Detroit — A 40-year-old man was in critical condition early Sunday after being shot by a man who followed him to a home on Detroit's west side, police said.

The victim, 40, and another man, 57, pulled into a driveway on the 16000 block of Archdale at about 12:45 a.m. Sunday. That's just south of Puritan and east of the Southfield Freeway.

A 40-year-old man was shot by a man who followed him to a home on Detroit's west side, police said.

Police say that after the driver pulled in, a black Dodge Charger with a temporary license plate pulled into the driveway. A man got out of the Charger and shot at the right side of the victim's body.

During the shooting, the passenger, the 57-year-old man, took off running. He later returned to the scene unhurt, police said.

No detailed suspect description was immediately available.
