Woman killed in west side Detroit shooting

Detroit — A woman was killed Monday in a shooting on the city's west side, police said.

Authorities said police received a call at 4:40 a.m. about an unresponsive woman lying on some grass in the 14500 block of Santa Rosa Driver near Lyndon and Livernois.

Officers found the victim lying face down. She was fully clothed and had two gunshot wounds on her body, according to officials.

Medics were called and pronounced the woman dead at the scene, they said.

The woman has not been identified by police, who continue to investigate.
