Sterling Heights — A 71-year-old man who was missing for nearly a day has been found.

Roger Lord was spotted by Troy police Wednesday sitting on a bench in front of Costello Elementary in Troy.

Lord was last seen Tuesday doing laundry with his wife at the Sterling Heights Apartments in the 14 Mile and Dequindre area. His wife went up to the apartment for a few minutes, police said, and when she returned to the laundry area, her husband was gone.

He has dementia and diabetes and is legally blind, but police say he was in good medical condition when found.

Family members searched the area, including some of places Lord liked to visit, such as Avis Park and New York Deli Restaurant. Sterling Heights Police aided the search with a police dog.
