Roseville police are investigating an alleged attempted abduction of a young girl on Halloween.

According to Chief James P. Berlin, the 11-year-old says she was walking to a friend’s house near Eastland and Park streets at about 8:40 p.m. when a man walked up quickly behind her. As he caught up with her he reportedly put his hands around her neck and told the girl “you’re coming with me.”

When he let go, the girl ran away toward her friend’s house. As she fled, the man yelled “come here,” but the girl keep running, Berlin said. The suspect was last seen fleeing on foot south on Ruthdale toward 12 Mile.

He is described as about 40 years old, 6-foot to 6-foot, 2-inches tall, with piercings in his lip and nose. He was wearing a black and blue shirt with the band name “Three Days Grace” written on the front and a black, hooded jacket.
