Clinton Township — Authorities have released the names of two men who died when one of them ran a red light while fleeing Macomb County sheriff’s deputies and struck a vehicle driven by the other.

Police said Monday that the crash killed 24-year-old Antonio D. Forton of Macomb Township and 45-year-old Lonnie C. Wimberly of St. Clair Shores.

The crash happened about 2:45 a.m. Saturday. The Macomb Daily of Mount Clemens and WDIV-TV say sheriff’s deputies were pursuing Forton’s vehicle when he ran a red light and struck Wimberly’s vehicle.

Forton was due in court this Thursday for a pretrial hearing in a burglary case.
