Kitchen gun fight kills Fraser man
A 31-year-old Clinton Township man was arraigned on charges in 39th District Court on Wednesday in connection to a fatal shooting of a 33-year-old man at a home in Fraser.
Matthew David Magdowski is charged with second-degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm.
Police responded around 6 p.m. Monday to a shooting on the 18000 block of Woodbine. When police arrived, they found a man on the floor with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died Tuesday.
Det. Lt. Dan Kolke of the Fraser Department of Public Safety said Magdowski told police he had shot the victim.
Police said the two men, who are friends, were at the residence of a third friend when the victim pulled a gun out of a kitchen drawer. He aimed the gun at Magdowski and racked it, ejecting two live rounds.
Magdowski grabbed the gun from the victim and aimed it at him, firing one round and striking the man, Kolke said.
Bond for Magdowski was set at $200,000.
