2 arraigned in tire, rim thefts from Macomb dealership
Washington Township — Two men who allegedly stole rims and tires from vehicles at a dealership were arraigned in 42nd District Court in Romeo on Wednesday.
Detroit residents Justin Eugene Edwards, 20, and George Ezra Pace, 30, were both charged with attempted larceny from a motor vehicle and resisting and obstructing arrest.
Edwards' bond was set at $25,000 while Pace's bond is $10,000.
Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said when deputies arrived at the Orchard Chrysler Dealership at 66460 Van Dyke in Washington Township on Monday three suspects were seen stealing rims and tires from vehicles.
The dealership also had 32 rims/tires stolen off vehicles Sunday.
Authorities say Edwards and Pace fled on foot while a third subject fled in a white Enterprise Rental cube van. K-9 handlers from the Sheriff's Office apprehended Edwards and Pace after a lengthy chase.
The third subject who fled in the van was later identified and a search warrant was conducted at a home in Detroit. The 32 rims and tires stolen from the dealership on Sunday were recovered during the search.
Additional charges are pending.
