Mount Clemens — Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a second suspect in the stabbing death of a 22-year-old Clinton Township man.

On Wednesday, Jayvon Tarice Cates, 18, of Mount Clemens was arrested without incident at an apartment on Jefferson in Detroit.

The arrest was conducted by officers from the Macomb County Sheriff’s Department, the Detroit Police Department and the U.S. Marshal Service.

On Sunday, police arrested Deandre Lee Arnold, 18, in the incident. He was later arraigned in 41B District Court on a charge of felony murder and is being held without bond.

Arnold and Cates are suspects in the death of pizza delivery man Alexander Burkart who was stabbed Saturday in his truck in Mount Clemens.

Police found Burkart after responding to reports of a vehicle crashing into a light pole behind a business in the area of 178 N. Gratiot.

Burkhart was the only person in the truck, a 2003 Dodge pickup. First responders tried to save Burkhart but he was pronounced dead at McLaren Hospital.

Arnold and Cates were identified after police reviewed videos from security cameras in the area.
