A 25-year-old man was arrested Thursday night after it was alleged that he fatally stabbed his roommate, Warren police said.

The suspect had been living with his girlfriend's brother at a home in the 8100 block of Fisher, near Eight Mile, Lt. Dan Novak said.

Shortly before 10 p.m., the pair became embroiled in "some type of a dispute, and that's what triggered" the attack, Novak said.

The 37-year-old roommate was stabbed in the back and torso with a knife, he said.

The victim, who has not been identified, was rushed to St. John Hospital & Medical Center in Detroit, where he died, Novak said.

The alleged assailant was arrested at the home on Fisher without incident, Novak said. He is expected to be arraigned Friday.
