Early morning crash kills Sterling Heights driver

An early-morning two-vehicle crash Monday has left a Sterling Heights man dead.
The Sterling Heights Police Department said the crash occurred about 6:40 a.m. at Utica and Plumbrook.
The 31-year-old was driving south on Utica in a Pontiac Grand Am when a Ford Expedition traveling north turned left, hitting the driver’s side door of the car.
The 58-year-old driver of the Expedition, also a Sterling Heights resident, suffered minor injuries, but did not need to be hospitalized.
Alcohol and drugs do not not appear to be a factor in the accident, police say.
