Boil-water advisory ends for 3 Macomb communities

The Detroit News

The Detroit Water and Sewerage Department has lifted its boil water alert for Shelby and Washington townships as well as Romeo Industrial Park.

The three communities were under a boil water alert starting at 10 p.m. Sunday when repairs began on a leaky valve on a 96-inch water main. Water pressure was maintained during the repairs so no homes or businesses lost water pressure. The affected area extended 14 miles.

Crews worked the Easter weekend to minimize the impact on traffic, according to the department.
