Sterling Heights — Police are looking for a man they believe may have been involved in an argument that left a man with a knife wound to his arm early Monday morning.

According to Lt. Davis Smith, officers were called to a hookah lounge in the 33100 block of Ryan at about 3:45 a.m.

“We received a report of a fight between a couple of men,” Smith said. “The fight escalated to the point where one man produced a knife and cut the other on the forearm. The suspect fled the scene and the victim was taken to William Beaumont Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”

Smith said both men appeared to be in their late 20s, but offered no other identification of the pair. Police said they have a person of interest they’d like to speak to about the incident.

Police are also checking to see if the hookah lounge was open after normal operating hours.

“It would be against the law if those men were there after the lounge was supposed to be closed,” Smith said. “This isn’t the first time we’ve responded to this location. We’ve been called there before because of fights.”
