MSP traffic blitz yields 217 stops in St. Clair Shores

St. Clair Shores — Responding to citizen concerns, troopers from the Michigan State Police’s special enforcement section launched a traffic blitz on Interstate 94 near Nine Mile on Tuesday.

According to the MSP, the area was targeted after complaints from motorists who regularly drive that stretch of the freeway. Troopers made 217 traffic stops, including 115 citations for speeding, 38 for not wearing a seat belt and 14 for driving while distracted.

More MSP traffic initiatives are expected in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties by troopers from the special enforcement section traffic detail.
