Motorcyclist killed in Clinton Twp. crash
Police continue to investigate a Friday fatal crash between a mini-van and a motorcycle.
The crash happened at about 5 p.m. on southbound Gratiot Avenue near Woodbury, north of Metropolitan Parkway, according to officials.
The motorcyclist, who has been identified as Ryan Michael Williams, 33, of Clinton Township, died from injuries he sustained in the crash, said Clinton Township Police Lt. Anthony Greene.
Police say the driver of a 1997 Pontiac Trans Sport exited a parking lot on the west side of Gratiot, crossed over the avenue’s southbound lanes and into its far left lane.
Williams was traveling south on Gratiot on a 2012 Kawaski Ninja motorcycle in the left lane and collided into the rear of the Pontiac, according to Greene.
Both Williams and the Pontiac’s driver, a 74-year-old Mount Clemens woman, were taken to a hospital. She was treated and released, police said.
Anyone with information about the crash should call Clinton Township Police at (586) 493-7894.
