Man charged with indecent exposure in Target store, lot
Police have arrested an 18-year-old Chesterfield Township man after he allegedly fondled himself inside a Target store.
Zachary Logan Goddu was arraigned Thursday afternoon in 42-2 District Court in New Baltimore on a charge of aggravated indecent exposure, a two-year felony. His bond was set at $5,000 cash.
Around 9 a.m. Wednesday police responded to a call that a man was fondling himself in a car in the parking lot of the Target store at 51400 Gratiot. Officers were unable to locate the man or his vehicle.
A short time later police said they received another call from inside the store saying a man had just exposed himself to a 28-year-old Clinton Township woman and her two children, ages 3 and 1.
The woman said the man, who was wearing pajama pants, followed her and her children in the store. She said that she became uncomfortable and began to leave. When she looked back down the aisle she said the suspect exposed and fondled himself.
“The woman stated she ran with her children to the nearest employee and pointed the man out, disclosing what he had just done,” police said in a release Thursday.
Loss prevention employees called 911 and told the man he was not free to leave. He fled into the parking lot stating “I never did what she said I did,” according to police.
On Thursday morning police arrested the suspect at his home on Wale Dr. in Chesterfield Township.
