A 25-year-old Clinton Township man and a 20-year-old Chesterfield Township woman were arraigned Wednesday on armed robbery charges after they allegedly took $12 from a man in Mount Clemens.

David Alan Surkovich and Alissa Marie Guilbault appeared in 41B District Court in Clinton Township, according to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office. They were each given $100,000 cash or surety bonds.

According to deputies, shortly after midnight Wednesday a 31-year-old Clinton Township man was walking on Main Street at Cass when he was approached by a man and woman. The woman asked him for money and the man refused.

After the man walked to a bus stop the two approached him again.

“He said that the male subject pulled a ‘black handgun’ from the waist of his jeans,” the sheriff’s department wrote. “He pointed the gun at his face and told him to ‘give me your money.’ ”

The man told deputies he gave the suspects $12 and they walked westbound on Cass. A short time later Clinton Township Police located the suspects based on a description provided by the Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center. No gun was found, but Surkovich was carrying a black flashlight, deputies said.

Surkovich and Guilbault return to court at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 9.
