Chesterfield Township — A high-speed chase Monday night ended with the arrest of a man suspected of stealing a pickup and a set of wheels.

According to police, the suspect was spotted in the vicinity of 23 Mile and Interstate 94 in a Ford F-250 that was reported stolen last week.

The person driving the truck was also suspected of stealing tires from a 2016 Ford Explorer in New Baltimore Monday night. The suspect entered the freeway and led police on a high-speed chase.

At one point, police used stop sticks to slow down the suspect, who then exited the freeway at 21 Mile where he hit a Chesterfield Township police vehicle.

The chase came to an end when the suspect turned onto a dead-end street, which stopped at Lake St. Clair.

The suspect was arrested. No one was injured in the incident.
