Roseville — A 33-year-old youth soccer coach has been charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct for an alleged encounter with a 12-year-old, police say.

Police say the incident occurred at Jason Allen Niemasz’s home Nov. 14 when the girl was an overnight guest visiting with one of the coach’s children.

“The two had met while playing soccer with the American Youth Soccer Organization in Warren, where the suspect is a volunteer coach,” according to Roseville police.

The girl’s parents contacted Roseville police, who conducted a four-week investigation. Niemasz was arrested Dec. 11.

Niemasz is at Macomb County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond, and he will face a probable cause conference at 8:15 a.m. on Dec. 23 at the 39th District Court. The alleged crime carries a punishment of up to life in prison.

Police do not believe this is an isolated incident and are encouraging other potential victims to come forward.

Those with information can call Detective Jeremy Scicluna at (586) 447-4510.
