The FBI is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who has attempted and committed robberies at check cashing stores in Macomb County.

Check cashing stores in Shelby Township, Sterling Heights, and Clinton Township have been targeted by the suspect who has a medium-light complexion, is in his late 30s, and is about 6-feet tall with a medium build.

Jill Washburn, a spokeswoman with the FBI’s Detroit office, said the suspect has shown or used a weapon in some of the robberies, which have taken place within the last several weeks, and that the man issued verbal threats in the course of the robbery.

Anyone with information or tips to offer can call the FBI Macomb Resident Agency at (586) 412-4844.
