Reward offered in Mount Clemens tossed dog case

The Detroit News

A $3,500 reward is being offering for tips leading to whoever threw a dog from a moving car in Mount Clemens earlier this month.

Tyler, a 2-year-old Shih Tzu mix, had a shattered pelvis and other injuries after he was tossed from a “dark-colored, hatchback-style sedan” around 3:45 p.m. March 1 in the northbound center lane of Gratiot between Kibbee and Robertson, the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office has said.

Witnesses called 911 after seeing the injured dog lying in the roadway.

Officials released surveillance images of the vehicle pulling into a nearby post office parking lot, then traveling north on Gratiot.

On top of Michigan Humane Society offering $2,500, Crime Stoppers of Michigan is providing a cash reward up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.

Tips can be left by calling 1-800-SPEAK-UP, going to or texting CSM and information to 274637.
