Second fire called suspicious at Macomb Township home

The Detroit News

Two fires in eight months at the same Macomb Township home has raised questions for authorities.

The Macomb Township Fire Department was called to the burning home at 46930 Riverpark East early Friday morning. The unoccupied house was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived.

It had been vacant since the previous fire last September, the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release Monday.

The township fire chief has asked the sheriff’s department’s fire investigators to help with the fire probe. Investigators prepared a search warrant to try to determine the cause of the blaze.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call the sheriff’s department at (586) 307-9412 or (800) 44-ARSON.
