Collision leads to crash into Macomb Twp. condos
Two drivers were injured in a head-on collision Thursday that sent one of their vehicles crashing into a Macomb Township condominium complex and catching fire.
Police say a 61-year-old Shelby Township man driving a 2001 Subaru Outback failed to stop at the intersection of Hayes and Hall roads and drove into oncoming traffic.
The man hit a Ford F-150 pickup head-on, causing the truck to leave the roadway and strike the side of a building in the Ashley Commons Condominium complex.
The accident caused the pickup, driven by a 57-year-old Harrison Township man, to catch fire.
Both drivers were transported to a local hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. The accident was reported at about 8 a.m.
Police closed parts of the road during the investigation.
