A 23-year-old Mount Clemens man was arraigned on felony charges this week after authorities say he fired several rounds at a man during a road rage incident.

Samuell Smith is charged with assault with intent to murder and felony firearm. He was video arraigned Tuesday in 41-B District Court of Clinton Township.

According to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch was alerted of gun shots fired around 7:20 p.m. Monday in the area of S. Christine and N. Rose in Mount Clemens.

When deputies arrived they were told that Smith and another man were involved in a road rage incident. The victim followed Smith to his home where the two exchanged words.

“Smith pulled a weapon from his waistline,” officials said in a statement. “The victim attempted to photograph Smith with his cell phone. Smith pushed the victim’s phone out of his hands.”

As the victim fled the scene in his blue Dodge Challenger, Smith fired several shots at the vehicle, officials said. No one was injured.

Smith has no criminal record and holds a concealed pistol license, officials said. During his arraignment bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety.
