Macomb Twp. foster mom faces sexual abuse charges
A licensed Michigan foster parent has been accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with a minor, authorities say.
Jackie Lee Pittman, 61, of Macomb Township, faces two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct — both 15-year felonies.
The charges stem from an incident that allegedly took place on July 28.
Pittman formerly sat on the Macomb County Adoption Board. There are no foster children currently living with her.
“We owe so much to the service and sacrifice of the many dedicated Michigan foster parents, who do such a tremendous job providing a secure home to our most vulnerable children,” Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith said in a statement. “These acts violate that sacred trust.”
Pittman was expected to be arraigned Friday in 41A District Court in Shelby Township.
