Police responded to East Detroit High School early Thursday afternoon to reports of multiple fights inside the building.

“There was not a lockdown, there was just a fight,” police service agent Brandy Bowers said. “Nothing serious.”

Police earlier Thursday reported that multiple fights had prompted a lockdown at the school.

Officers were called to the school around 1:10 p.m. Officials there were not available for comment.

East Detroit High is located at 15501 Couzens Ave.
