Police are investigating the discovery of a woman’s body found Wednesday morning in a pond at a Shelby Township apartment complex.

The woman was identified Thursday as 18-year-old Madyson Carolyn Redpath-Kirkwood, who’d been reported as missing and possibly endangered on Sept. 23.

At 10:35 a.m. Wednesday, officers were called to the Oak Hill Apartments complex off of West Utica Road. Contractors reported they found a body in a pond on the south side of the complex.

Redpath-Kirkwood’s body was recovered from the water, though the cause of her death has not been released. Police do not believe her death is the result of foul play.
