Police are seeking a suspect accused of fatally shooting a 28-year-old man this week in Sterling Heights.

Nikolla Berishaj was sitting in a vehicle parked near 13330 Denver Circle North at about 3:20 a.m. Wednesday when someone fired a gun inside, striking him in the chest, investigators said in a statement.

Berishaj was taken to Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, where he later died, according to the release.

A description of a suspect was not yet available.

Lt. James Belmonte said it's possible more information will be released as police learn more about the case, but that little will be said in this early stage of the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sterling Heights Police Department at (586) 446-2801.
