A 31-year-old New Baltimore woman faces charges for filing a false police report after she said she was abducted at gunpoint in Chesterfield Township and forced to drive around the men who were robbing her.

“Investigators have determined that the victim in this incident had fabricated a False Police Report,” police said in a statement Wednesday afternoon. “No such crime took place at the B&B party store on 23 Mile Road, nor was the victim ever at this location.”

Investigators plan to seek charges for false report of a felony, police said.

Earlier Wednesday, police said that the woman reported that she had stopped at the B & B liquor store on the 31700 block of 23 Mile at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. She told police that she had parked to go inside, but was approached by two men. One of the men pulled out a gun and ordered her to drive them in her car.

The woman also told police that during the ride the men rummaged through her purse, took cash and her cellphone before leading her to a parking lot in Eastpointe where they fled on foot.
