St. Clair Shores police arrested a person accused of opening fire Thursday in a domestic dispute.

Multiple 911 calls reported gunshots near California and Greater Mack at about 5:15 p.m., investigators said in a statement. No one was injured.

Officers found several shell casings nearby and arrested one person at the scene on unrelated charges, but the suspected shooter fled on foot, according to the release. That person, who has not been named, later was apprehended.

A preliminary investigation found the shooting resulted from a domestic dispute. Broadcast reports suggested a man fired 10 shots at his girlfriend’s car, but police did not release additional details Thursday night.

“It would be inappropriate to release any further information at this time or to speculate on potential charges,” Police Chief Todd Woodcox wrote, adding an update would be released once the suspect is arraigned.

Authorities were xpected to present evidence to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office on Friday for a review.
