The Eastpointe Police Department is investigating the “suspicious” death of a woman found early Wednesday morning at a home on the 23700 block of Shakespeare.

Police responded to a 911 call about a "medical emergency" involving the woman at about 5 a.m. There they found the woman dead, said deputy police chief Eric Keiser. The woman is 29, but in the early stages police aren't sure if the woman is a homicide victim. That block of Shakespeare is south of Stephens, east of Gratiot.

“Detectives are on the scene trying to sort through all of this,” Keiser said. “It’s a pretty fresh investigation.”

A 30-year-old man was arrested at the scene for outstanding misdemeanor warrants, Keiser said.
