If you hear disturbing noises emanating from Selfridge Air National Guard Base Friday, don't panic. It is just a drill.

Airmen at the Selfridge Air National Guard Base prepare a A-10 fighter for flight.

The base will hold training exercises Friday, officials said.

Located at Hall Road and Jefferson in Harrison Township, the base is Michigan's largest military installation.

The exercise may include the use of sirens, loudspeakers and simulated gunfire. Residents and people in the area near the base may hear those sounds, officials said.

The Michigan Air National Guard conducts training exercises on a regular basis to ensure airmen are able to respond to a wide range of scenarios.

The Michigan Air National Guard's 127th Wing is the host unit of the base. Units of the U.S. Air Force, Army,
Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Customs & Border Protection are located on the base. About 3,000 full-time civilian
and military personnel work on the base in addition to 3,000 members of the Air and Army National Guard and armed forces reserve units.
