Authorities have charged a 45-year-old Mount Clemens man with possessing child porn, officials said.

Brian Loudon has been formally charged in court with five counts of possessing child sexually abusive material, a felony punishable by four years in prison, a count of child sexually abusive activity, a seven-year felony, and two counts of using a computer to commit crime, each a seven-year felony, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.

A magistrate set his bond at $30,000 and scheduled his next court appearance for Jan. 17.

Officials said the Macomb Area Computer Enforcement unit of the sheriff's office received a tip from the state attorney general's office about child pornography being distributed over the Internet.

Deputies investigated the tip, which led them to an address on North Esplanade Street in Mount Clemens. After conducting surveillance, detectives obtained a search warrant and contacted the residents of the home, according to officials.

Police said they took Loudon into custody and housed him at the Macomb County Jail.

They also said Loudon is cooperating with investigators and they do not believe anyone else at the house had any knowledge of the child pornography.
