Macomb County authorities have charged a driver nearly two years after a hit and run killed a 21-year-old man.

Jacob Lee Brand’s body was found in a ditch around 11:35 a.m. April 30, 2016, on the 23000 block of Bordman in Armada Township, Michigan State Police reported.

Investigators determined that the injuries the Kimball Township apprentice electrician had resulted from a car striking him.

After a lengthy probe, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Joshua Howard Rickel of Port Huron, state police said Tuesday.

The 22-year-old was arraigned Monday at Romeo’s 42nd District Court for failing to stop at a traffic crash causing death.

A probable-cause conference was scheduled for March 13.
