Pedestrian, 25, dies 'crossing against light' on Gratiot

A 25-year-old Madison Heights man died Sunday after being struck while crossing Gratiot on foot, against a traffic light, Saturday night in Roseville.

The victim was hit while Saturday night about 9 p.m. while crossing northbound Gratiot at Martin Road, which is north of Eleven Mile, Roseville Police Department said in a statement.

He was hit in the left lane by a vehicle driven by a 58-year-old Waterford man, who stayed on scene after the crash and cooperated with investigators.

At this point, police do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the driver's actions. He was released at the scene.

The victim died Sunday afternoon. His name has not yet been released.

Police are still investigating.
