The Macomb County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash early Friday on North Avenue and 24 Mile Road.

Deputies responded to the two-vehicle crash at 12:45 a.m. Three were injured and an 18-year-old woman was killed in the collision, police said in a press release

A green 2002 Ford Escape, driven by a 30-year-old Chesterfield Township man, was traveling southbound on North Avenue when it collided with a silver 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by Haley Nardoni, 18, while she was traveling eastbound on 24 Mile Road.

The male driver was transported to the hospital for minor injuries and Nardoni was also transported to the hospital where she died from her injuries, the sheriff's office said.

Two other female passengers, both 16, were in the vehicle with Nardoni and were transported to the hospital for treatment.

Macomb County Sheriff’s Detectives are investigating what caused the crash. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this crash, according to the release. All occupants, with the exception of the Chevrolet Cruze back seat passenger, were wearing seatbelts.
