The case is expected to be presented to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office for possible charges once the investigation is completed.

The crash happened about 7:50 a.m. March 23 in the area of Cass Avenue and South Rose Street.

White was struck by a maroon minivan, police said. She was initially taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Following the incident, officials for Prevail Academy, a charter school near where the crash happened, acknowledged White as one of the teachers.

A spokeswoman for the school, Leah Nixon, said the teacher was assisting with morning arrival at the time of the crash. No children were injured.
