Chesterfield Township police are searching for a couple of men who they believe took $800 from another man's wallet while he shopped at a Meijer store.

One of the men is described as white, in his 50s. At the time of the theft, he was wearing an orange T-shirt with small logo and blue shorts.

The other suspect is white, in his 20s with a beard. He was wearing a red shirt, white sunglasses and a black baseball cap with white trim.

Police said the theft happened at about 11:40 a.m. last week Friday at the Meijer store on 23 Mile at Gratiot Avenue.

A customer of the store left a wallet on a bench near the building's west side vestibule and left the store.

The store's surveillance system recorded the first suspect approaching the bench and removing $800 from the wallet, according to police. It also shows the suspect leaving the store and getting into a white Dodge Ram pickup, which was driven by the second suspect.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the theft should call Chesterfield Township Police Det. Frank Unger at (586) 949-3721 or email him at funger@chesterfieldpolice.org.
