Man with hammer robs Roseville CVS for child's surgery
Police are searching for a man who said he was robbing a CVS Pharmacy in Roseville Saturday morning because he needed money for his child's surgery.
The suspect entered the store at 5:30 a.m. with a white cloth over his face to cover his identity, a hammer in hand, and approached an employee who was working in aisle 12, according to Crime Stoppers.
The suspect demanded money for his child's surgery but the clerk would not open the register, officials said. The suspect then went behind the counter, pried open the cash register and took $50.
The employee then confronted the suspect and he ran out of the store.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
The suspect is described as a 30-40 year old white man weighing 180-200 pounds. He was wearing a red baseball hat, grey plaid collared shirt, dark green pants and white tennis shoes.
