Boat stolen from Roseville hotel recovered
Roseville police said they've recovered a 20-foot boat and trailer that was stolen Monday from a hotel parking lot, but the pickup truck taken with it remains missing.
The boat was found at about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Beniteau Street and Mack Avenue on Detroit's east side, police said. They also said the boat's controls were damaged and its outboard motor was taken.
No new information on the suspects was available, police said.
Surveillance cameras captured at least one suspect scoping out the vehicles outside the Days Inn in the 31300 block of Gratiot about 1:30 a.m. Monday, investigators said in a statement.
Two suspects entered the black 2005 Chevrolet Suburban and drove off, taking a dark 2015 Ranger Z520C boat, matching gray-toned trailer and fishing gear, according to the release.
The truck has a Tennessee license plate of 7K34M1. The boat and trailer also are registered in that state, authorities said.
