Man survives being shot in head in Mt. Clemens
A 21-year-old Eastpointe man was shot in the head Monday in Mount Clemens, according to police.
The man is expected to survive and is in a hospital receiving treatment, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.
Police continue to investigate.
Sheriff's deputies were called to the area of Gibbs Street and Dickinson Avenue at about 4:10 p.m. Monday to respond to a report of a shooting, officials said.
Deputies arrived and found a man who had been shot in the head, they said.
Investigators spoke to several people in the area and police brought in a number of individuals for questioning, according to authorities.
Police said witnesses told them the shooting stems for an incident in which money was owed to a person for a vehicle.
The victim and several other people arrived at the location of the shooting to collect the debt, officials said. Several other individuals were already at the scene, including the person who allegedly owes the debt, they said.
Multiple shots were fired and the victim was struck, according to officials. Police said many of the people who were at the scene during the shooting are being uncooperative.
Anyone with information about the shooting should call the Macomb County Sheriff's Office at (586) 463-1854.
