St. Clair Shores police are searching for a man who broke into a gas station Sunday and took about $1,000 worth of cigarettes and $40 in alcohol, officials said.

The theft happened just before 4 a.m. Sunday at a Citgo gas station at Martin Road and Little Mack, according to authorities.

Police said the man, a heavy-set white male in his 50s used a landscaping brick to break the glass in the front door and get inside the business.

Officials also said there was a second person who was driving the car the suspect got into to flee the scene. The car is described as a silver, mid-2000s Chevy Trailblazer with a deer head sticker on the lower right corner of the back window, according to police.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the theft should call Det. Stephen Stindt at (586) 445-5305.
