Man arraigned in strangulation death of girlfriend in Mt. Clemens
A man has been arraigned Friday in the strangulation death of his girlfriend in Mount Clemens, officials said.
Alfred Paige, 54, was arraigned in 41-B District Court in Clinton Township on one count of premeditated first-degree murder. Paige was denied bond.
The Macomb County Sheriff's office investigated the death of the victim, identified as Diana Wilson, 47, which occurred around 1 a.m. Thursday, they said.
Deputies were called to a home near Cass Avenue and North Wilson Boulevard on a report of a woman not breathing, according to authorities.
The officers arrived and found Wilson deceased inside a bedroom, police said.
Investigators learned Wilson lived at the home with Paige and another man. Witnesses told police Wilson and Paige had recently moved to the area from Pennsylvania.
The medical examiner's office determined Wilson died from strangulation, police said.
Paige's probable cause conference is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday in 41-B District Court.
