Clinton Township police are investigating a report of an attempted sexual assault of a woman Sunday at a high school, officials said.

The incident happened at about 8:35 a.m. Sunday on the running track at Chippewa Valley High School on 19 Mile near Romeo Plank, police said.

The victim, a 34-year-old woman, told investigators she was running on the track when she was approached by a man, who then pushed her to the ground and attempted to sexually assault her, according to officials.

She also said she fought with the attacker, who fled on to 19 Mile Road in a two-tone, silver Ford Escape with dark-colored trim along the bottom, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect should call Clinton Township Police at (586) 493-7840 or Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
