Man dies in Shelby Twp. crash with pedestrian

Shelby Township police are investigating a vehicle and pedestrian crash Sunday that killed a 29-year-old man, officials said.

The crash happened at about 4:45 a.m. Sunday in the area of Auburn Road and Parkdale Street, police said.

A preliminary investigation shows the victim was walking in the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle, according to authorities.

Police and firefighters were called to the scene and the man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Officials said alcohol in the victim may have been a factor.
