Man shot in arm at St. Clair Shores motel
St. Clair Shores police are investigating the nonfatal shooting of a man at a motel early Friday, officials said.
Officers responded at about 12:30 a.m. to a 911 call from the Shore Pointe Motor Lodge on 9 Mile between Harper Road and Interstate 94, they said.
They arrived and spoke to the motel's clerk at the front desk who told police a guest who was bleeding profusely from his arm entered the lobby and asked him to call 911, according to officials.
The victim told the officers he had been shot during a robbery. Police said the man was taken to a hospital to be treated. He is listed in stable condition.
During their investigation, detectives identified a woman who had a connection to the victim, officials said. The woman came to police headquarters and detectives interviewed her.
She told police she and the shooting victim were involved in a domestic dispute, authorities said. The incident started in their motel room and continued out into the hallway.
During the incident, the man was shot in the arm, she said.
Police said the man is not cooperating with detectives and the woman's account of the incident has been corroborated by evidence.
Officials said the investigation is ongoing but they plan to seek felony domestic violence charges against the man.
