Woman found dead on Harrison Twp. road

Macomb County Sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of a woman who was found Wednesday morning in a Harrison Township roadway, officials said.

Deputies responded at about 5:15 a.m. Wednesday to a report of a woman lying in the road in the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Shook Road, according to authorities. It appears she was struck by a vehicle, police said. 

Officials identified the woman as 33-year-old Danielle Labellarte of Warren.

They also said she had been staying at the Ruth Motel on Jefferson Avenue with her boyfriend, who has been taken into custody, police said.

Detectives will present their findings on the case to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office today, they also said.
