Clinton Township — A Clinton Township man was arraigned Friday in connection to the death of his girlfriend whose body was found earlier this week in the middle of a Harrison Township road, authorities said.

Tyler Stewart, 34, is charged with three counts in the death of Danielle Labellarte, 33, including manslaughter, operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked license causing death, and failure to stop at the scene of an incident when at fault resulting in death. Each charge carries a 15-year felony.

Stewart was arraigned in 41B District Court in Clinton Township. His bond was set at $500,000.

Stewart and Labellarte had gotten into an argument on Wednesday at the Ruth Motel, at 35427 Jefferson Ave., in Harrison Township before the incident occurred, Macomb County Sheriff's Office said.

Stewart had been staying at the motel for one month where Labellarte would visit him on a regular basis, deputies said. The couple left the motel together in Stewart’s vehicle at 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Labellarte attempted to exit the vehicle and was run over in the roadway at Jefferson and Shook Avenue in Harrison Township. Stewart fled the scene.

Authorities received a call from a man who saw the woman when he was driving through the area, deputies said.

Stewart is scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 7 for a probable cause hearing.
