Anchor Bay schools reopen Thursday after threat deemed false
Macomb County's Anchor Bay Public Schools are slated to reopen Thursday after a threat closed the district for two consecutive days.
"We have been notified by the Michigan State Police and the St. Clair County Sheriff Office that the investigation is complete and the threat was deemed to be a false statement," district officials said in a statement on its Facebook page. "Based on the confession of the tipster, our schools are safe for the return of students and staff."
Officials learned of the alleged threat involving Anchor Bay High School via the OK2Say app, which allows people to report threats anonymously and digitally.
Trained technicians at Michigan State Police screen and forward details to local law enforcement, schools and local community mental health organizations or the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
