Deputies were called at about 4 a.m. Wednesday to the Village Green Apartments near Jefferson Avenue and Shook Road to respond to a call about a theft from a vehicle, according to authorities. The caller said three men had broken into a vehicle, removing things from it and putting them into a black Honda Pilot.

Deputies arrived in time to see the Pilot leaving the area. Officials said they attempted to stop the vehicle, but it fled and a chase began.

The deputies followed the Pilot west on I-94 into the city of St. Clair Shores. Police deployed stop sticks, but the suspect vehicle went around them, authorities said.

The chase continued on the freeway and into the city of Detroit where the vehicle crashed at Conner Street, they said. The three suspects inside the vehicle exited and fled on foot.

Officials said deputies located one of the suspects with the help of Roseville and Detroit police K-9 units. The suspect is a juvenile and is being held at the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center.

No injuries were reported.

Anyone with information about the theft or the suspects should call the Macomb County Sheriff's Office at (586) 307-9361.
