Clinton Township — A Macomb County man was charged Tuesday for allegedly shooting his wife in the face and killing her Saturday, officials said.

Kyle Wonsowicz, 26, of Clinton Township was charged in 41-B District Court in Clinton Township with second-degree murder and using a firearm during the commission of a felony, they said. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison for the murder charge.

He was arraigned on the charges via video, according to authorities. A magistrate ordered him held without bond and scheduled a probable cause hearing for the case against him for Wednesday.

Police accuse Wonsowicz of shooting and killing Nicole Larocca, 26.

Officers were called at about 10 p.m. Saturday to the couple's home on Stafford near Gratiot and 14 Mile for a report of a man shooting a gun, authorities said.

Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith said Tuesday the man was outside the home and threatened to shoot someone.

Officers found the man and searched the home, he said. It was also the second time police had come to the home that night.

They had received complaints about loud arguing earlier, Smith said. Officers checked on the couple and reported the victim was in good spirits, claiming no domestic violence had occurred, he said.

During the second visit, police found a woman who had been shot in the face, police said. She was taken to a hospital where she died from her wounds the next day at 9:45 p.m. Sunday.

Her husband, wearing just his boxer shorts, was holding and racking a shotgun in front of the home, according to the prosecutor. Officers subdued him and placed him under arrest.
